When we came to the decision to breed and raise paints we knew just the type of horses we were looking for and striving to raise. Susie was the first mare we bought. She exemplified EVERYTHING we were looking for as our foundation mare. Big boned, stocky, big feet and straight legs, huge hip, level rump, deep chest and heart girth, nice long sloping shoulder for a smooth ride. Susie had the type of bloodlines we were looking for with lots of cow and show in there. On top of that she was Homozygous for Black and my MOST favorite color... Black and White. What more could a person ask for in a brood mare? The only white she has on her is the white you see on her shoulders... ... a small patch on her rump that can be seen in the photo below and of course her legs. Susie is 15 hands, weighs 1,100 pounds and is a super brood mare. She has had 6 Tobiano foals. All have outstanding color and flash, size, athletic ability and overall confirmation. She is throwing VERY "Cowy" colts. Her first 4 foals were all Bay out of a Bay stallion. Her next foal was Black out of a Palomino and this years foal was Homozygous Bay out of a Sorrel. Her 2003 filly, "Ke Tops Regal Booie" is her first Black and White foal and her only foal with minimal white. Susies 2005 Colt, "Citas Regal Prfection" out of our new herd sire "Citas Bueno Suerte" is a Gorgeous Homozygous Bay Stud colt. He is long legged, extremely athletic and has the sweetest personality you could ever ask for. He is easy to work with and learns quickly. We have retained him in our herd for a future herd sire. Susie has Sugar Bars right on her papers as well as some notable Paints; Kokomingo and Hank's Koko. She has Painted Joe on her pedigree. Painted Joe was an unbeaten racing Paint. He was both a Champion Performer and Champion Sire. He has an extensive family of Race and Show Offspring. Susies pedigree is filled with AQHA and APHA World Champions, National Champions, Grand Champions, Superiors and ROMs. Susie was not bred last year. We like to give our mares a rest from time to time. She was bred this year. Look for her 2007 foal out of "Citas Bueno Suerte".
